For the month of July I have decided to keep a Photo Blog, or as I will refer to it from here on out, a
Phlog. Every day this month, I will post a picture or two that reflect something interesting in regards to that day. As we will be traveling on a 9 day road trip across the Southwest with Michael's family, I thought this would be the perfect month to document.
The first picture was snapped at an annual festival held in our small hometown last weekend. Michael and I were able to visit a tent set up by a representative of our favorite team, the New Orleans Saints. At the booth, we were able to see (and yes even touch!) two of the most sacred relics of the Saints organization- the Lombardi trophy and the Superbowl
XLIV Championship ring. (Michael has reminded me that Roman numerals must ALWAYS be used when referencing a Superbowl,
XLIV,
XLIV, gotta remember that.) You can only imagine the giddiness Michael was feeling. And Michael does not exude giddiness very often. He was in euphoria the remainder of the day.
The next picture is to remind you to never drink from public water fountains. The reason for this is crazy pet parents like myself who let their darlings do this.

I took Deuce for a walk in a local park, and my goodness, I just couldn't help myself. The dog was thirsty! And it was 100 degrees outside, so who can blame me? After making a couple of loops around the park, Deuce was panting like crazy with his tongue lolling out the side of his mouth. So I did the only thing a respectable pet parent would do- I spotted a water fountain, looked over my shoulder to make sure no one was watching, then pressed the button for the water to spout up. It took a second for Deuce to realize he could drink from the fountain, but boy, once he figured it out, he didn't want to stop! I was actually quite proud of myself for my resourcefulness, and Deuce was very thankful too!
Had to add this one to honor the Lombardi and to show the giddiness.
