I've had this DIY on the back burner for a long time, and today I finally had the time and all the materials together to make it. I was inspired by a picture I saw on Pinterest where someone had Mod Podged her marriage licence on a wooden initial and displayed it on a bookshelf. I decided to apply the same concept to a canvas.
I started with scrapbook paper, 25 cent cardboard quotes, Mod Podge, buttons, Scrabble letters, 2 blank canvases, and a copy of my marriage licence.
I created a background with the scrapbook paper, then laid the marriage licence on top. It was a little tricky cutting the licence evenly because I wanted it to be off center. It doesn't look perfect, but I think it will work.
Then I added the embellishments. I love the shabby vintage feel of this project. It will be hanging somewhere in our house soon. Not sure where yet, because our house is not shabby vintage style at all. Perhaps I can make it work in the guest room.
