{Baby Davis} 12 Weeks:: First Tri Down!!
Due Date:: April 2, 2013
How far along:: 12 weeks
Gender:: Unknown
Movement:: None that I can feel.
Symptoms::
~ Increasing appetite. I'm eating more, smaller meals throughout the day rather than a square three.
~ Still tired, but I've had a tad more energy this week. A little more pep, if you will.
~ Nausea has decreased dramatically! Thank goodness!
~ Tums are my new best friend. (Let's just leave it at that.)
Craving:: Nothing crazy. Still can't get enough of orange juice; organic, whole, vitamin-D fortified milk; and shredded whole wheat cereal with strawberries. One thing I have really wanted but can't bring myself to buy (because of the Yellow #5 in the ingredients list) is a dill pickle! I know that's classic pregnancy craving, but just the sound of them makes my mouth water.
Looking Forward To:: Hearing Baby's heartbeat! Our next appointment is this coming Tuesday. Last month we saw Baby's heart beating on the ultra sound but he/she was still too tiny to hear anything. This time we should be able to hear that lub-dub!
Fun Baby Fact:: Did you know that the intestines develop inside the umbilical cord, then move into the stomach?? I did not know that until this week! Baby's intestines are currently making their way to their permanent resting place in side his/her body.
Weekly Development::
~ Placenta now weighs about an ounce, and still growing. All oxygen Baby needs will come through the placenta.
~ Baby's vocal cords are developing this week.
~ Baby is now able to bend, stretch, kick, and even make faces :)
~ Baby's liver accounts for about 10% of his/her current body weight.
Emotions:: Excitement level is back up this week, perhaps because it seems a bit more real now that I can visibly see a baby bump, however small. Baby really is growing!
Best Moment of the Week::
~ I got my first belly pat yesterday! I may not enjoy these later on (or from complete strangers), but right now it's just confirmation that people are starting to notice a little baby bump. Michael's cousin was the first to give Baby a pat.
