{Baby Davis} 16 Weeks + A Tiny Fist

Date:: April 2, 2013

How far along:: 16 weeks aka 4 months

Gender:: Unknown- but soon! Oh, so soon.

Movement:: None that I can feel. However, we saw Baby today at our appointment. He/she was kicking and waving and twirling, just having a grand time inside my tummy!

Symptoms::
~ Just an ever growing waistband....

Craving::
~ Nothing, really. Boring, I know.

Looking Forward To::
~ Mark it down.... We will have the ultrasound to find out Baby's gender on November 6!!
~ Still waiting to feel those dance moves :)

Fun Baby Fact::
~ Baby is (supposedly) as long as a turnip. (A turnip? Really?)  


Weekly Development::
~ On the small ultrasound machine today we were able to see all four fingers and one thumb on each hand! We could see legs, feet, head, torso, and even the spine of Baby. It is incredible! Thankfully Dr. says Baby has all his/her limbs and is moving and growing just fine!
~ We also heard Baby's heartbeat again today, loud and strong.

Emotions:: After seeing those tiny fingers and toes I am absolutely smitten with this child. Oh goodness, I really can hardly wait to get my hands on him/her now! I am beyond excited at the thought that this child is OURS.

Best Moment of the Week::
~ Seeing Baby again. It brings to mind those verses in Psalms that I've never really put much emphasis on before, but now they seem so relevant. Not to me (though they are) but to my child.

Thank you, Almighty God, who knows me better than I know myself, for our precious, precious child.

"You (LORD God) formed my inward parts. You wove me in my mother's womb. I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are Your works, and my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from You when I was made in secret and skillfully wrought in the depths of the earth. Your eyes have seen me when I was unformed, and in Your book are written all the days ordained for me, even though none of them have happened yet.
How precious are Your thoughts to me, O God! How vast is the sum of them! If I should count them, they would outnumber the sand. When I awake, I am still with You."

Here's the picture of Baby all snuggled in his/her comfy room. You can just make out the fingers and thumb giving the thumbs up sign on the screen. Also, my eyes can't help but be drawn to the image on the left of the screen. To me, it looks just like two eyes, a nose, and a teeny open mouth. Is it just me or is that Baby's sweet face? Dr. didn't point it out, but then again at the time we were squealing over the hand. What do you think? Is that Baby's first picture??
