Here is a close up of the sign I made for our door last week. Last Monday, my students were ON FIRE during their Math lesson, and one of my kids sat straight up in his seat and blurted out, "We are unstoppable!" Since then, the other 4th grade teachers and I have made that our motto for my class. No matter what may come at them for the rest of the year, no matter how hard they have to work, or how scared they may be of the high-stakes standardized test in the spring, we want to help them remember how they felt during that lesson. They are smart enough to take on anything! One of my student's asked me if I would make a sign to put on the door so they could see it every time they walked in. It's amazing how much their self-esteem has lifted in just one week by repeating those words to themselves often.

We are Unstoppable!
I unpacked my Fall decorations for my classroom when I got to school this morning. I'd almost forgotten about my adorable little boy and girl scarecrow and my bale of hay that my mom got for me last year. It looks so cute sitting on my desk.
I also hung my Jack-O-Lantern on my door. He'll stay with us through October and then Tom Turkey will appear for November. I have to take advantage of decorating for Fall while I can...you can only decorate with Jack-O-Lantern's for one month out of the year!
