New Layout

After searching for several weeks, I finally found a blog template that I feel represents my personality and the visual meaning of the phrase "beauty for ashes." I love the colors in this template, and I love the message that the images represent. In Isaiah 61, the Lord promises "to console those who mourn, to give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, a garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness, so that they may be called trees of righteousness planted by the Lord, that He may be glorified." I love that. I love that our Holy Father is willing to take our sadness, discouragement, sin, and failures for Himself and give us in return comfort, joy, praise, and unshakable, deep-rooted righteousness so that we can glorify Him. That's redemption! That's what I hope to convey through my words and my life. I'm still trying to work out some kinks! For example, I haven't yet figured out how to change the font and color of the heading. If you know how, please enlighten me! I tell Michael all the time that I repel technology. Leave it up to me to not know how to change something as simple as font! Speaking of redemption, please be in fervent prayer this week for dear friends of ours who are in our Sunday School class. Casey and Kate Williams flew to the Ukraine this week to adopt a new member(members?) into their family. They will actually choose their child at 2:00 AM our time Thursday morning. We are so excited about them and this new journey they are taking in life. Can you imagine that child, who has never had a family or felt loved, being invited into the open and loving arms of a new family? Beauty for ashes. That's what it's all about.
