Right Where I Need to Be

I am going through a drought. And internet drought. Ever since moving into our new house at the end of April, we have been without cable and internet. My roommates and I have agreed that when you're a broke college student, your priorities change. A hot shower, a roof over your head, and Ramon noodles for supper become more important than Facebook or The Bachelorette! In reality, it's not that bad. I know that when school starts we'll have to have access for classes so we'll get it then. One thing that I have missed, though, is updating my blog. There's something about sitting down at a computer and writing my thoughts that soothes my soul and makes everything much less complicated. That being said...I have a job! I am going to be a DIBELS para-professional at a local elementary school. Basically what that means is that I will be tutoring students K-3rd grade in reading throughout the school day. I am excited about being in the school system and working with the kids. Tomorrow is my first day. In-service starts early, and the students' first day is Friday. I am grateful for this summer of interviews and job searching, of no internet, cable, or radio in my car. It has left me with much time to listen to God, read His Word, and reflect on His faithfulness and guidance. I've been faced with many choices, and had to make many decisions. Some easy, and some not so easy. But there are several things that I am confident of: 1) The joy of the Lord is my strength 2) The Lord will make my paths strait 3) The support, love, and advice of friends and family is priceless It's been hard, but I've made it through. I've lived even when I thought I wouldn't! I'm right where I need to be.
